About this page
Most planet pages are circles with names underneath. This one leaves the names off and puts the information into the drawing instead: craters on the small rocky worlds, thick bands on the gas giants, a ring on Saturn. A child colours the stripes first and works out the order afterwards.
That makes it a colouring page and a worksheet at the same time. Colour them the way they actually look, then write the names in — or colour them completely wrong and see who notices.

Questions
Which planets are shown?
All eight, in the current model — Mercury to Neptune. Pluto is not included.
Can I use it as a quiz?
Yes. Print one coloured copy as the answer key, then hand out blank pages and ask students to name each planet from its surface detail.
Is the sun in the middle?
Yes, with rays drawn as separate flame shapes so it can be coloured in several warm tones.
